An 80-year-old woman is recovering after being beaten and robbed outside a Las Vegas pet store.

"The blanket or whatever it was went over my head and they started hitting me," Mary Knopp said.

Knopp says until that moment she didn't think anything of the two women standing behind a nearby SUV as she walked out of the pet store near Charleston and knells boulevards Wednesday morning.

"They were so well dressed," Knopp said.

As she was repeatedly hit in the face, the 80-year-old didn't know what her attackers were after until the beating stopped.

“After she threw me to the ground and ran and got in the car," Knopp said.

Knopp says another woman came over to help her seconds after the women took off.

Her purse was returned hours later by a man who found it in a nearby dumpster, with everything still inside.

Thursday, Knopp got a call from police.

Her car was found on the west side of the valley, with her pet food still in the trunk and only the radio was missing.

Knopp says police took finger prints.

The 80-year-old says she would likely recognize the woman, but did not describe any remarkable features of either woman.

Adding she didn’t give their looks much thought until after her head was covered.

While she wants the women caught, she says she will not live in fear.

"I am going back," Knopp said.

Knopp says the manager of the pet store replaced the pet food she bought before the robbery.

When she called to return the extra food, she said told her he wouldn't even consider taking it back.
