UPDATE MAY 23: The Clark County coroner has identified the male driver of the GMC Sierra as 53-year-old Dwight Ardell Sproul from Pahrump, NV and the female passenger as 52-year-old Wendy Lea Caskey from Beatty, NV.
UPDATE MAY 23: The Clark County coroner identified two of those killed in last weekend's crash as 78-year-old Arturo Otero and 77-year-old Juana E. Otero, both of Chula Vista, California. They died of blunt force injuries.
Nye County Sheriff's Deputies are helping out troopers with the Nevada Highway Patrol investigate a multi-car crash on U.S. Highway 95 near Amargosa Valley, which is about 90 minutes from Las Vegas.
The crash happened around 4:23 p.m. Sunday between state routes 373 and 160.
Five people have died in the crash and one person was injured.
NHP says that 3 vehicles were involved. It appears that a Nissan entered the southbound vehicle to pass another vehicle and immediately hit a vehicle that was southbound.
The passing vehicle burst into flames.
The southbound vehicle then ht a truck, sending it off the road. The male driver was ejected and died at the scene. A female passenger was airlifted to University Medical Center.
The male driver and female passenger of the southbound Nissan were also pronounced dead on scene.
The two people who were in the passing Nissan were also killed. NHP was unable to determine their genders at the time of the crash.
