Four people were displaced by a fire in the 1700 block of Parkchester Drive on Wednesday.
The fire was reported at 6:05 p.m. Las Vegas Fire & Rescue say that flames and smoke were visible upon arrival and it took approximately 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.
One person was treated on scene for smoke inhalation.
Fire investigators say that the fire appears to be accidental, caused by improperly hot material discarded into the backyard.
The back of the house, attic and kitchen area were heavily damaged. Four people were displaced and are being assisted by American Red Cross. Damage was estimated at $100,000.
The home is located near Vegas and Rancho drives.
