2 dogs hurt in apartment fire

Two dogs were critically injured in an apartment fire Thursday afternoon.

The fire was reported around 12:31 p.m. at 4201 Rochelle Avenue, near Arville Street. Upon arrival, personnel reported a moderate amount of smoke coming from the first story of a two-story apartment complex.

Clark County Fire Department crews made an offensive attack and knocked the fire down at a reported time of 12:42 p.m. Firefighting efforts prevented the extension of the fire to adjacent units.

Two dogs were found in critical condition in the apartment. Firefighters were providing CPR to revive the animals. Their current condition is unknown. Animal control was notified to respond.

The fire is under investigation. 2 adults and one child were displaced.

No injuries were reported were reported to occupants or firefighters. Damages have not been estimated.
