Memorial Day in Las Vegas | 2018

Memorial Day Weekend is one of the busiest in Las Vegas. Around 320,000 people are expected to visit Las Vegas this year. 


The public is invited to attend three Memorial Day events at the Southern Nevada Veterans Cemetery located in Boulder City. The first is on Saturday, May 26, with a "Flag-In" event. On Sunday, May 27, there will be a ceremony honoring Special Forces beginning at 10 a.m. at the cemetery’s Memorial Garden area. On Monday, May 28, there will be a Memorial Day ceremony at the cemetery beginning at 1 p.m. in the cemetery chapel. The keynote speakers include Nevada Department of Veterans Services Director Kat Miller and LCDR, Ed Giron, Commander of the Naval Operation Support Center in Las Vegas. The event is hosted by the Nevada Department of Veterans Services.

The Rotary Club of Green Valley will hold its inaugural Field of Honor event, planting 800 flags in an awe-inspiring display at Cornerstone Park in Henderson. The field will honor veterans, active duty military, first responders, and community members whose lives reflect the motto “Service Above Self.” A special area of the Park sponsored by the Rotary Club of Green Valley will be dedicated in remembrance of the 58 victims of 1 October.

This year will be the 24th year for the annual Fly Your Flags Over Hoover Dam Run. Thousands of motorcyclists participate in the ride each year that honors veterans. The ride begins at 10 a.m. May 27 on the Arizona side of Hoover Dam. The Vietnam Vets-Legacy Vets Motorcycle Club started the run in 1994. The ride ends at Boulder City's Veterans Memorial Cemetery with a short ceremony.  

A Memorial Day event will be held May 28 at the Silent Heroes of the Cold War Memorial, located at the Kyle Canyon U.S. Forest Service Visitor Center. The event is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., including a flag ceremony at 10 a.m., laying of the wreath at 10:20 a.m. and tours of the memorial from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. 


Cabo Wabo Cantina is going red, white and boozy for Memorial Day weekend with their ‘All-American’ cocktail, made with Absolut Citron, simple syrup, sweet and sour, Sprite, grenadine and blue curacao, priced at $13. To keep the fiesta going, holiday revelers can sip on their cocktails while partying it up with a live DJ on Cabo’s outdoor patio throughout the weekend.

CRAFTkitchen will offer free dine-in breakfast entrée for active military members and veterans on Memorial Day (one per person.)  Featuring fun dishes like churro-style waffles, red velvet cakes and pork carnitas benedicts, this husband and wife-owned joint sees long lines for brunch on the weekends, so be sure to grab free breakfast while you can!

SLS Las Vegas is celebrating Memorial Day weekend with live music and dining specials at Umami Burger, Beer Garden & Sports Book and Northside Café & Chinese Kitchen and Foxtail Pool through Monday, May 28.
Umami Burger, Beer Garden & Sports Book will offer a hamburger, French fry and beer combination featuring their Cali Burger. Northside Café & Chinese Kitchen will also offer a hamburger combination of its own featuring the Northside Burger. Foxtail Pool will have DJs spinning music all weekend long from noon to 6 p.m. The resort-style pool will offer bites through its self-service window including a hamburger, French fry and Bud Light combo for $9.95.

Flower Child's Memorial Day Special features smoky BBQ chicken, sweet corn quinoa, kale coleslaw, watermelon and a drink (lemonade or iced tea) for $12.

Holsteins will offer a Prime Time Burger – a Kobe beef patty with shaved Prime Rib, gruyere cheese, borracho onion, creamy steak sauce, asparagus, and béarnaise sauce on a toasted Italian roll.

Spice Market Buffet at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino will offer a specialty Memorial Day Weekend brunch and dinner menu on May 26 and May 27. Guests can enjoy hand-carved specialties and holiday fare including slow-roasted prime rib, BBQ beef brisket, BBQ ribs, jerk chicken and more. Guests can also try Middle Eastern and Asian specialties such as Tandoori chicken kabobs and lamb skewers plus classic entrees and desserts like the all-American apple pie. Brunch and dinner are priced at $26.99 per guest.  

Le Village Buffet at Paris Las Vegas will feature specialty items on the Memorial Day Weekend brunch and dinner menus on May 26 and May 27. Guests can enjoy everything from crab legs to duck with cherry glaze for the holiday weekend. The Burgundy station will feature carved-to-order delicacies such as glazed ham, prime rib, leg of lamb and more. The Brittany station will serve sweet and savory made-to-order crepes. Brunch and dinner are priced at $36.99 per guest.

Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas supports veterans and active military every day, extending a 20% discount on all entrees for guests who present a valid military identification card. This Memorial Day come out and celebrate “Red, White and Brews” with endless Bavarian fun, food and beer. Hofbräuhaus, the other side of Vegas. Prost!

Beginning May 26 until May 28, guests who visit participating Einstein Bros. Bagels locations and present proof of local residence will receive a buy-one, get-one offer on the company’s new Flavors Across America menu. The breakfast and lunch sandwiches include a mac and cheese bagel with bacon, a mac and cheese bagel with ham and Swiss cheese, the crispy chicken and tater breakfast bagel, the crispy chicken and tater lunch bagel, green chile bagel with turkey sausage and green chile club with turkey and bacon.

Public School 702 will offer an extra day of brunch (which is typically reserved for the weekends) on Memorial Day. Enjoy fan-favorites including the Eggs Benedict Pizza, Edamame Hummus Toast and Smothered Breakfast Burrito.  

Therapy restaurant will offer an exclusive patriotic burger and beer pairing, in honor of the Memorial Day. All throughout the holiday weekend, patrons can munch on Therapy’s ‘Patriotic Patty’ while sipping on Therapy’s Duck IPA, priced at $20. The holiday burger is made with BBQ pulled pork, Applewood smoked bacon, fried onion strings, served with fries.


The Las Vegas 51s are hosting a five-game homestand over Memorial Day Weekend against Tacoma Rainiers, the Triple-A affiliate for the Seattle Mariners. The first game will be on May 25, which is also Military Appreciation Night.  KTNV Channel 13, Lotus Broadcasting and the 51s have teamed up with Honor Flight Southern Nevada to raise money to send WWII veterans from our community as well as Tonopah, Ely, Mesquite, Laughlin, Pahrump and surrounding areas to memorials in Washington, D.C. that stand in their honor. Channel 13 will be using its helicopter to fly in a veteran to throw out first pitch. There will be a spectacular fireworks show after the game. May 26 is Camouflage Baseball Cap Night. Smith's Value Menu Monday is back for the game on May 28.

BEER PARK at Paris Las Vegas will host a weekend-long Memorial Day party from May 25 through May 28. The Strip-side venue’s celebration will feature a live DJ playing top hits, more than 100 beer selections, including 36 drafts on tap, and oversized yard games, including Jenga, shuffle board and Connect Four. The dynamic open-air restaurant always offers an enhanced barbecue experience with an expansive menu of tailgate-style selections prepared with the in-house smoker, which imparts the flavor of beer to a variety of delicious appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, baby back ribs and sausages.

The Park kicks off Memorial Day Weekend with a celebration of craft beer at a two-day festival, Craft Brew Movement, May 25-26 from 2-8 p.m. Guests can learn about the craft brew culture from expert brewers and beer enthusiasts as well as sample a variety of beers from around the world. Beerhaus will be offering beer pairings and samplers as well as dining specials such as warm pretzels and beer cheese dip, their signature Beerhaus Brat and beer floats. Admission is free.  

Wet'n'Wild is celebrating Memorial Day Weekend May 25 through 27. DJ IQ will perform on the Red Rock Bay wave stage on May 25. On May 25, the Vegas Idol competition will start at 2 p.m., Jasmine Trias will perform at 5, In Real Life performs at 7 and there will be a fireworks show at 8:30 p.m. On May 27, DJ IQ will be back.  

Troyboi will make an appearance May 25 at Drai's Beachclub at The Cromwell. Rae Sremmurd and A-Trak will be there May 26, Trey Songz on May 26 and DJ Pauly D on May 27. Drai’s LIVE at Drai’s Nightclub will also feature performances by celebrated artists and DJs starting with Future on May 25; 2 Chainz and Trey Songz on May 26; and Migos with DJ Franzen on May 28.

Party #LikeACaesar at Garden of the Gods Pool Oasis at Caesars Palace on Memorial Day Weekend. With something for everyone, you can enjoy a live DJ, go-go dancers and the perfect party scene at Neptune pool; a quiet respite and poolside spa treatments from QUA Baths and Spa for those looking to relax; or European-style fun in the sun at Venus European Pool Lounge. Cabana rentals are available.

DJ Supa James is kicking off Memorial Day Weekend at Flamingo GO Pool Dayclub on May 25. Model, actress and television personality Amber Rose will host the pool party on May 26 at the Flamingo. The weekend continues with DJs From Mars and DJ.

Carnaval Court at Harrah’s Las Vegas will get into the Memorial Day Weekend spirit with backyard games such as corn hole, croquet and more. Guests can enjoy American favorites at the hot dog cart serving up delicious bites. Drink specials include: Tito’s and Red Bull for $14, you-call-it Jack Daniel’s cocktails for $10, Blue Moon for $7, Coors Light for $6 and Miller Lite for $6.

Locals and tourists will love the poolside party at VooDoo Beach at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino with free parking, drink specials, games and more. Guests are invited to get into the holiday spirit with a watermelon eating contest. The world-famous Chippendales® and celebrity guest host, Tony Dovolani, will turn up the heat and join partygoers for limbo. blink-182 kicks off its first-ever Las Vegas residency with performances on Memorial Day Weekend at the Pearl Concert Theater at The Palms.  

Model, actress and DJ Tori Brixx will host a late-night party and perform at Crazy Horse III for Memorial Day. The party stars at 10 p.m. May 26. The SKAM artist and model will heat up Memorial Day weekend with a variety of party beats. The emerging DJ is currently a guest speaker on the CBS podcast, “Loveline” and the face of popular celebrity fashion lines, including Khloe Kardashian’s “The GA Project” and Blac Chyna’s “88 FIN.”

The LINQ will host a party at its pool on May 26. It will be the first ever Mountain Dew Ice party of the summer. There will be music, drinks, tacos from the new Taco spot and more.

Partygoers can soak up the sun at The Scene Pool Deck at Planet Hollywood on Memorial Day Weekend. There will be live DJs and a party patrol. The cast of "Crazy Girls" will make an appearance on May 26.

Chateau Nightclub & Rooftop, located at Paris Las Vegas, will celebrate  Memorial Day Weekend with a rooftop bash hosted by DJ Whoo Kid starting at 10:30 p.m. on May 26. A DJ, producer and entrepreneur, DJ Whoo Kid will perform his set on Chateau’s rooftop under the awning of the hotel’s Eiffel Tower. DJ Whoo Kid is best known for recording multiple mixtapes with prominent hip hop artists, including Snoop Dogg, T.I., Chamillionaire and The Game. He is currently the CEO of Shadyville Entertainment and the radio host of “The Whoolywood Shuffle” for Eminem’s Shade 45 Channel.

The 2nd annual Soulful Summer Nights at Craig Ranch Regional Park on May 27 will feature performances by Musiq Soulchild, Keyshia Cole, Jon B and Portrait.

Visit the pool at Harrah’s Las Vegas for live DJ entertainment, drink specials and more. Girls from X Country will keep the poolside party energy going on May 26. On May 27 guests can enjoy All Day Rosé specials featuring a bottle Martini & Rossi Sparkling Rosé included with the purchase of a cabana, party luxe daybed or SoHo daybed. On Sunday, lucky guests also have a chance to win a Memorial Day cabana fully stocked with specialty Corona items.

Enjoy an open-air party at Spanish Steps Bar near Gordon Ramsay HELL’S KITCHEN at Caesars Palace. A Memorial Day car show is happening from noon to 7 May 28 at Boulevard Mall on Maryland Parkway. In addition to the car show, there will be bounce houses for the kids, a small jobs fair, family fun, a special tribute to vets, community resources and more. A portion of proceeds will benefit Peoples Autism Foundation.

The Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas is offering a premium package for Memorial Day Weekend. Madame Tussauds Las Vegas is celebrating Memorial Day Weekend by giving members of the military and veterans free entry this weekend. Must show ID to receive offer. 

On May 27 from noon to 2 p.m., U.S. Gas and Showtime Car Wash's location at Tropicana Avenue and Jones Boulevard will have live music, free hot dogs and hamburgers to the public, $1.99 per gallon gas and free full service car wash for all active military, veterans, law enforcement and first responders.

Fabulous Freddy's Car Wash is offering half off any exterior wash to active or retired military if they wear patriotic gear and show military id on Memorial Day.

SeaQuest Interactive Aquariums, located at the Boulevard Mall, is inviting children and families to enjoy their Summer Kick-Off Weekend May 26 through 28. The weekend will consist of visits from Marina the Mermaid and Spider-Dad as well as face painting and story times.

Escape Reality, which has seven themed escape rooms, is offering a 30 percent discount for military members through May 30.

Glowzone, a glow-in-the-dark indoor fun center, is providing two hours of unlimited attractions for free. The offer is available to all military members on May 28.

Lion Habitat Ranch is offering free admission on May 28 for all active military. The venue is open throughout the weekend from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
