Heaven Can Wait Animal Society, a local nonprofit that’s served animals in Las Vegas for over 20 years, is doing more to help families in need care for their pets.

At their lowcost spay and neuter clinic, many Clark County families will qualify for generous subsidies for essential veterinary care for their cat or dog.

Since COVID-19 restrictions were put in place, Heaven Can Wait Animal Society has experienced major disruptions in services due to capacity limits and shutdowns. With the softening of restrictions, the charity has seen an influx in the need for veterinary services with almost 1,000 animals served each month as 2020 came to a close. Although the organization offers all services at a discounted rate, Heaven Can Wait has also seen a sharp increase in the number of people needing additional financial support.

Having served over 150,000 animals in its 20-year history, Heaven Can Wait focuses on providing low-cost, high-quality spay & neuter services and vaccinations to underserved communities. Through these efforts, they’ve saved an estimated 450,000 animals from shelter intake and the risk of euthanasia.

Individuals living in unincorporated Clark County will qualify for additional price subsidies for their cat or dog if they are on TANF or Medicaid assistance. All other families qualify to benefit from Heaven Can Wait’s standard subsidized prices.

Appointments can be made online or by phone at 702-655-4800.

Anyone interested in supporting Heaven Can Wait’s low-cost programming can make a monetary or in-kind gift from the organization’s Wish List on their website.
