Lo-Lo's Chicken & Waffles is starting over from scratch.

The Arizona-based franchise opened up a location in Las Vegas, but it wasn't meeting their "standards of perfection." They received a C grade from health inspectors for moldy bell peppers, a stained cutting board, and flooded kitchen floors.

“So I took it back,” said Larry "Lo-Lo" White, the franchise's founder. “My wife and I have been here daily, working the fryer and on the floor.”

Lo-Lo's has since returned to an A grade and has new management in place. They're also hiring and training up to 40 staff members.

The restaurant is relaunching on May 12, and the first 2,000 people in the door get a free meal. They're also giving away free chicken for a year, and overnight campers will be treated to soul food, drinks, and music.
