The 6th Annual Safe Neighborhood Youth Basketball Tournament is next weekend.
Officers from LVMPD, NLVPD, HPD and CCSDPD will coach and referee the games. Their goal is to breakdown the barriers between police officers and the community.
Added this year is a 3-point challenge event and a sponsorship with UNLV.
The all day tournament will be held at the Student Wellness Recreation Center on the campus of UNLV.
Boys and girls 6-12 years old need to have their parents sign them up early at www.snybt.com. All skill levels are welcomed and it's free to participate.
Every child will receive a goodie bag and the winners of each age division will receive medals. The tournament is divided into three age groups: 6-8, 9-10 & 11-12.
