Trustees of the Clark County School District voted Thursday night to save several support staff positions that were in danger of being cut.

Board members discussed the third round of cuts during a marathon meeting that lasted six hours.

Support staff employees came out in droves to fight for their jobs, 66 of which were on a list of potential cuts.

Ultimately, board members voted unanimously to take all filled positions off the list of cuts.

Trustee Carolyn Edwards proposed asking staff, including administrators, to seek two days of furlough to help make up the cost.

The board also chose to continue with cuts of several vacant positions.
