A semi-truck hit a woman in a wheelchair near Maryland Parkway and Flamingo Road Tuesday night.
Around 11:40 p.m., the crash occurred on the sidewalk south of 1180 E. Flamingo Road.
Evidence at the scene shows a 2017 Peterbilt Semi Tractor & Trailer was making a right turn from westbound East Flamingo Road into the Walgreens parking lot. The passenger's side rear tires went over the sidewalk at the driveway entrance, rolling over the pedestrian. The 53-year-old female was transported to Sunrise Trauma Hospital where she was pronounced dead despite all resuscitative efforts.
The driver of the Semi, 48-year-old Ivan Inchaurregui, remained at the scene and did not display any signs of impairment. The pedestrian's death marked the 58th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for the year 2017.
The Clark County coroner will release the name of the woman after relatives have been notified.
