A problem Las Vegas house went up in flames near El Capitan and Durango Thursday night.

"Now that it's burnt, it's more of an eyesore," said one neighbor.

Neighbors called 13 Action News about squatters taking over Shady Pines Drive this past summer.

After some phone calls, a couple news stories, and a confrontation with the squatters, we were told the unwelcomed people left.

But not for good.

Fire investigators say the house was unsecured and showed signs people were living inside.

A neighbor we spoke with says it's just a matter of time before one of the other homes goes up in flames on the same street.

"Across the street, directly across from us, the same situation, it's been vacant for a long period of time, some squatters are in there."

Investigators aren't sure of the cause of the fire but say there was $10,000 in damage.

The home is boarded up now.
