A local pilot's union has strong words for Allegiant Air with its questionable safety record.

"It's clear Allegiant's bare minimum approach to its operation isn't working," according to the union. "It isn't worth the risk to fly Allegiant."

This comes after Allegiant has had a series of incidents, including emergency landings, aborted takeoffs and grounded flights. A flight last month had engine issues while last summer, a pilot lost control of a flight as it sped down the runway at McCarran International Airport.

However, Allegiant did earn $72 million in the first quarter, a nearly 11 percent jump from the same time last year.
