As COVID cases and hospitalizations surge, there's a growing fear the rising numbers could put a strain on hospital staff.

Dr. Steve Feagins, Chief Clinical Officer for Mercy Health, says the public is putting the medical community at risk.

People who are not following recommended health guidelines are forcing staff to quarantine or miss days because of possible exposure outside the hospital.

Dr. Feagins says the concern isn't only for hospital staff.

This issue also effects first responders, 911 operators and EMS.

So his message is to mask up, not only for yourself, but for the medical community.
