The pandemic is pushing many to the brink emotionally and financially.

For some, it's also putting future dreams at risk.

17-year-old Naomi Barnes is currently the only person in her family with a job.

Her mom was laid off months ago.

She currently stays home to help her children and grandchildren with remote learning.

But Barnes has dreams of going to college.

So she's working along with taking care of SAT testing and juggling multiple sports.

Barnes says she knows opportunities won't just be handed to her and she's still planning for college while continuing to support her family.
