LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Doctors and healthcare workers on the front lines aren't invincible. They're also struggling during the pandemic.

To avoid burnout and exhaustion, emergency medicine doctor Lindi Hayes says it's important to create time for self-care.

Even if you can't take vacation time, Dr. Hayes says don't forget the importance of taking breaks to stay fresh and at your best.

Emergency workers experience so much sickness and death on a regular basis.

So Dr. Hayes says it's important to be intentional about getting rest and disconnecting during downtime to avoid fatigue and depression.
