The Welcome to Las Vegas sign is going blue Friday for Autism Awareness Month.

The participating organizations supporting autism awareness are expected to include the Touro University Nevada Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities, Families for Effective Autism Treatment, Autism Speaks and the Grant a Gift Autism Foundation.

The officials will turn on blue light bulbs installed on the world-famous Welcome sign during a brief ceremony in front of the sign. The sign is on Las Vegas Boulevard just south of Russell Road. The light bulbs, which are usually yellow, surround the border of the sign.
