LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Giving Las Vegas a voice in the movie-making business.

A film school graduate went above and beyond to showcase the city in his final project.

"My name is Sean Hale. I grew up in Vegas. I was born and raised. My mom's side of the family has been there since the late '30s, early '20," Hale said.

"My senior thesis 'Love Letter to Vegas' is basically about a young boy about to graduate high school, and he usually goes camping with his friends over the summer in Montana, but his parents drag him to Vegas on their annual gambling trip," Hale continued.

Hale says Vegas is everything to him and he wanted to make a film about the city rooted in the reality of kids growing up in Southern Nevada -- not about "The Hangover" or "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas."

Hale plans to submit his short film at multiple festivals this summer including the Silver State Film Festival at the Orleans hotel-casino.
