The Vegas Golden Knights supported the NHL’s Hockey Is For Everyone initiative through a variety of ways.

This included participating in USA Hockey’s “Try Hockey for Free Day” on Feb. 25 and a visit to The Center in Las Vegas on Feb. 28.

USA Hockey and 380 local associations across the country hosted “Try Hockey For Free Day.” Participating locations encouraged kids, ages 4 to 9, to come try youth hockey as part of Hockey Week Across America.

"Try Hockey for Free Day" was held at the Las Vegas Ice Center, located at 9295 W. Flamingo Road Suite 130. The Vegas Golden Knights distributed hockey sticks and jerseys to the first 80 children who participated. Hockey Operations Assistant Keith Veronesi was on the ice giving skating and hockey tutorials.

On Feb. 28, the Vegas Golden Knights visited The Center, located at 401 S. Maryland Pkwy., as part of “You Can Play” and set up interactives including an inflatable shooting cage, life-size Jenga and Golden Knights bean bag toss as well as gave out special rainbow-themed Golden Knights T-shirts.

In conjunction with the team’s visit to The Center, the Golden Knights showed their support for the LGBTQ community and the “You Can Play” initiative with special rainbow-themed avatars on their official social media channels on Feb. 28.
