LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — What can you learn from a shadow?
Wednesday, some local students used that information to measure the Earth as part of an international partnership recreating a project more than 2,000 years old.
Students at Nasri Academy were told to measure the shadow of a meter stick while the sun is directly overhead.
Then students in Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada -- which is directly north of Las Vegas -- did the same thing.
And with a little math, the kids were able to determine the circumference of the Earth.
