The 7th annual Race for Hope and Fun Walk took place at Town Square Saturday.

The 5K race, a kids run and fun walk for families hosted by Grant A Gift Autism Foundation was supposed to happen in April but it had to be rescheduled due to rain.

"Here in Southern Nevada, it's like a big family," said founder Lynda Tache. "It's a community safety net that anyone can plug into. That's why we're trying to get the word out so families don't feel alone."

Also, for the second straight year, Blue Man Group will put on a special, sensory-friendly show to benefit Grant A Gift Foundation. Light levels and sound will be reduced to make it more accessible for those with autism.

The show is scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday at the Luxor hotel-casino. More information on the show and a link to tickets can be found on Grant A Gift Autism Foundation's website.
