Pet owners from around the valley brought their animals to St. Rose Dominican, San Martin on Saturday for the 11th annual pet blessing and animal fair.
The event is sponsored each year by Dignity Health.
Blessings are bestowed each year on the Feast of Saint Martin of Porres, the patron saint of social justice and interracial harmony. He was also known for his love of animals.
Blessings were bestowed by Sr. Mary Kieffer. There were also a variety of pet-related booths with information, demonstrations and drawings. In addition, there were several Halloween costume contests.
