During this time of crisis, many organizations are searching for ways to serve those who are struggling. To assist, Current Initiatives (Current) is providing complimentary laundry services to lower-income families as well as hospitality workers currently out of work due to the coronavirus.

The Laundry Project COVID-19 Relief Effort kicked off in the Tampa Bay area in March and organizers are excited to bring its efforts to Las Vegas residents. During the last 12 weeks, approximately 7,600 loads of laundry have been washed for more than 770 families.

Downtown Faith and The River Las Vegas are helping sponsor the event, however additional volunteers and supplies are still needed for the projects. Requested donation supplies includes detergent, quarters (rolls of $10), garbage bags, coloring books, crayons, fabric softener and laundry baskets.

The organization is complying with safety and sanitary guidelines for this event which requires customers to wear a mask and use hand sanitizer. Current will provide both if needed.

Clean laundry is not just an on-going financial burden for many families but is also a contributing factor to health and wellness. The Laundry Project is committed to doing what they can to bolster the health and wellness of families in need by providing clean laundry during this crisis.

This takes place June 20 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The first location is A+ Laundromat - 2448 E Bonanza Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89101
The second location is Las Vegas Coin Laundry - 1200 W Owens Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89106
