Thousands of people attended the Las Vegas police's Easter egg hunt Saturday.
Officers teamed up with the Christian Hope Project for the event at Craig Ranch Park, which featured carnival games, face painting, food, live music and other festivities.
"As police officers we deal with people every day, and most of it's negative," said Sgt. Mark Lourenco, also the Christian Hope Project's president. "This is the way that as police officers off-duty, we can interact with the community."
Police brought in some SWAT and armor vehicles, a helicopter and K-9 units to the event for kids to interact with.
