The American Heart Association is embracing the new normal and moving its iconic Las Vegas Walk online to a digital platform.

In its 29th year, the Las Vegas Walk is an entertaining and meaningful way to celebrate heart and stroke survivors, raise lifesaving funds and encourage physical activity.

On Sept. 26, the Las Vegas Heart Walk participants and teams will not physically meet but are invited to get moving at home or around the neighborhood and then share a photo of your walk online with #LVHeartWalk.

Here are a few fun activities to consider:

- Take a walk outside (while following current social distancing guidelines) · Get the whole family involved and have an indoor dance party

- Try a few strengthening exercises like push-ups, lunges and squats · Create an at home circuit workout.

To register, visit their website.

From there, participants can stay up to date by downloading the Heart Walk mobile app and encourage friends and family to join in via e-mail or on social media.

On the day of the virtual event, everyone is encouraged to join their AHA Nevada Facebook page, wear their Heart Walk T-shirt and post pictures and videos to document their activity, using the hashtag #LVHeartWalk.

The dollars raised from the Las Vegas Heart Walk help fund lifesaving research, advocacy efforts (such as tobacco control and prevention), CPR training and public heart and brain health education.
