A NEW MURAL IN DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS FEATURES THE FAMOUS BLUE ANGEL MOTEL SIGN. — A new mural in downtown Las Vegas features the famous Blue Angel motel sign.
The mural is named "Phalanx of Angels Ascending" and is on a building across from the Neon Museum on Las Vegas Boulevard.

The Blue Angel watched over the Blue Angel Motel and downtown Las Vegas for 61 years.
The original Blue Angel statue was designed by Betty Willis, who also created the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign.
