LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — With unemployment sky-rocketing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, unprecedented numbers of Americans need help feeding their families.

In partnership with Feeding America, Good Morning America and 13 Action News are staging a Day of Hope on April 9 to share food resources with our viewers.  This is not a fundraiser, although we will be raising funds as a part of the event.

13 HELPS: List of resources for Nevadans during coronavirus pandemic

“Good Morning America” will kick off the network-wide initiative with segments highlighting food banks and food pantry personnel working hard to get food in the hands of people who need it, along with available resources for those struggling to feed themselves and their families.

13 Action News will be live from Three Square, an organization here in Las Vegas that is helping the community during these difficult times.

In an effort to serve as many people as possible, Three Square has collaborated with select agency partners and volunteers located in key regions throughout the valley who will be assisting with the distribution of food at 40 emergency food distribution sites. For a complete list of Three Square’s emergency food distribution sites and hours of operation, visit threesquare.org/help. This map will be updated in real-time, ensuring the most current information is available.

Additionally, Three Square remains committed to assisting seniors. Those 60 years of age and older who need food assistance are encouraged to call 702-765-4030 Monday-Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., where they will speak with a caring Advocate to determine which program, service or resource is best for them. Advocates can also assess seniors for SNAP and provide information on nearby pantries that are dedicated to seniors, or home delivery for those in need.
