The Nevada Highway Patrol recently toured Opportunity Village's North Campus and met with 200 OVIPs to discuss career choice and traffic safety.

The NHP shared with OVIPs how they strive to promote safety on Nevada highways by providing law enforcement traffic services to the motoring public. OVIPs had the opportunity to ask questions and learn about the importance of public safety positions in the community.

Visits from organizations throughout Southern Nevada such as the NHP help OVIPs realize future career paths and passions, leading to independence and community integration.

Opportunity Village was founded in 1954 by seven families who were determined to give their children with disabilities the best lives possible. Now, more than 60 years later, Opportunity Village is one of the most recognized and respected organizations of its type in the United States. Opportunity Village serves nearly 3,000 individuals annually, providing vocational training, employment, habilitation and social recreation programs and services that make their lives more purposeful and interesting.
