The Nellis Support Team and Las Vegas Country Club honored military families from Nellis and Creech Air Force Bases with a luncheon and children's party Sunday.

More than 100 spouses and children of deployed military members attended the sixth year of the event. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived by helicopter to greet the children.

Children received donated gift cards and toys.

Parents said it was not only fun for the kids but for them as well.

"They do this for those who have deployed spouses as a way to get out and socialize and meet other spouses that are in the same boat as we are," Jade Clinton said. "It gives me a chance to socialize with other adults."
