The Southern Nevada Health District launched a new app to help you reach your fitness goals.

The new app, called Half My Plate, offers a customized diet plan based on USDA recommendations according to the user's age, gender, and physical activity level. The app also contains a searchable database of healthy recipes.

In Clark County, 40.2 percent of adults reported eating less than one serving of fruit per day, and 19.5 percent report eating less than one serving of vegetables. Moderately active adults should eat about two cups of fruit per day and two and a half cups of veggies.

SNHD's Office of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion created the app, along with other online tools and resources, to educate the public about ways to live a healthier lifestyle. The app is available through Apple Store for iOS devices or from Google Play for Android.
