Walker Furniture, Star Nursery and the Las Vegas Rescue Mission sponsored deliveries for struggling families to have a house full of furniture, toys and a live Christmas tree.

For Diana and William Connett, life has not been easy. After moving from Ohio, Diana, a mother of three, was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Then William lost his maintenance job after new management took over. He has had difficulty finding work since then while Diana has daily physical therapy appointments.

They weren't going to have anything for Christmas until the Home for the Holidays program changed that, delivering a whole house of furniture, toys for the three kids and a Christmas tree.

Ladoris Johnson also got a Home for the Holidays. She moved to Las Vegas in February and has been working two jobs to support her 2-year-old daughter and her second child on the way. She struggled with no car and no furnishings in her apartment, always putting her daughter's needs first.

"It's one thing to hear about it, and to kind of anticipate," she said. "I don't think you can ever prepare yourself for the feeling that I have. It's just truly a blessing."
