New elementary school breaks ground in Henderson

Posted

The Clark County School District held a groundbreaking on a new elementary school near the intersection of Beltrada Avenue and Via Italia, inside the Inspirada master-planned community in Henderson.

This is one of four new elementary schools slated to open in 2018, with funds from the 2015 Capital Improvement Program.

City of Henderson Mayor Andy Hafen, CCSD Board of School Trustees President Deanna L. Wright and Superintendent Pat Skorkowsky were present to help commemorate the groundbreaking. The Liberty High School Drum Line also helped kick off the celebration with a performance.

The projects breaking ground in 2017 are made possible by Nevada legislators through the passage of SB 207 in 2015, which allows for 10 years of bonding authority for new school construction and renovation projects and is expected to provide $4.1 billion during this period.
