A new event for serious music lovers is taking place this weekend.

POP-UP is being described as an exclusive event series that will feature rotating music genres at different venues throughout the series.

Las Vegas is known for its nightclubs. It also has its share of dive bars. However, there aren't many places in between that offer locals the opportunity to indulge in something different and that appeals to different age demographics and tastes in music. POP-UP will strive to do just that.

The first POP-UP will take place on Nov. 15 at the Ghostbar inside The Palms hotel-casino. The "Soulsonic Edition" will feature live performances by musicians Cameron Calloway, Coco Jenkins, Rico Delargo, and Brittany Rose. Jazz, soul, electronic soul, funk, soul house, R&B and hip hop will be featured.

The first event will also celebrate the birthdays of DJ88, StyleSmithSays and Brittany Rose.

The evening will begin with cocktails at 9 p.m., followed by live performances and DJ sets. The cover charge is $5 for Nevada residents and $10 for tourists. Cocktail specials will be sponsored by Belvedere. Hosts for the first event are Brian Moore, Jolene Mannina of Relish LLC, Ronald Smith of StyleSmithSays, and Rico Delargo Lifestyle Supreme.
