LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas area residents who are fans of the "Chucky" movies took part in a spooky drive-in movie theater challenge Thursday night.

The Snappy Burger on Decatur Boulevard near the U.S. 95 hosted the "Chucky Challenge," calling on the bravest of the brave to sit through a screening of "Chucky" while a doll of his liking sat in the back seat -- the whole time.

Sound easy? Part of the challenge was that the Chucky doll was holding a real knife.

"I've been into Chucky since the 80s," said Quinten Daulton, a participant at the event. "I was there since the very beginning so I figured keep on going, right?"

"On top of that, the daughter, she loves Chucky," he added. "So gotta do what scares her the most, you know?"

Jon Basso, the owner of Snappy Burger, says this was simply an idea to get people out of the house and have some fun.

"No one has enjoyed and no one has profited off this awful pandemic," he said.

"Chucky, a knife, a drive-in theater -- that might not be your idea of fun," Basso admitted. "But I'll tell you what."

"Whatever it is that you want to do," he said, "you need to get out of the house -- be safe -- but get out of the house and enjoy yourself."
