Faraday Future unveils prototype for car

Calling themselves more of a technology company than an automobile company, Faraday Future unveiled its first concept vehicle ahead of CES.

Just 18 months after its creation, the electric car company pulled the cover off of the futuristic looking FFZero1.

During the hour-long event, Faraday Future leaders called the car a sort of tablet on wheels, saying it will have a phone integrated into the steering wheel.

They also said the production cars would be designed with autonomous driving in mind.

The unveiling came just weeks after state lawmakers approved a tax incentive deal with Faraday Future.

That deal is contingent on the car maker building a billion dollar factory in North Las Vegas.

Faraday Future says it plans to break ground on that factory in a few weeks, and hopes to have a production vehicle rolling off the line in a couple of years.

The company did not release a price point for the FFZero1, but said it has a top speed of 200 mph, and could do 0-60 in three seconds.

Last month, lawmakers approved tax breaks for Faraday Future at the Apex Industrial Park in North Las Vegas. It is expected to break ground later this month and generate thousands of jobs.
