Adam’s Place, a local nonprofit organization founded to give children and teens an opportunity to connect with others who face similar life changing experiences, is in need of additional volunteer facilitators to better improve and ensure all team participants are receiving the proper support.
They will provide volunteers with tools, knowledge, and expertise on how to facilitate group sessions with children, teens, and young adults who are grieving a loss. 1 in 14 children in the US will experience the death of a parent or sibling by the age of 18.
A child’s development can derail when they experience the death of a loved one and are not met with the appropriate support.
Attendees will learn the fundamentals of group facilitation through reading, discussing, and wiring on materials presented and references in class. Attendees will learn the specific components of “Camp Cope”: activities, guidelines, facilitator skills, pre and post group surveys.
Their next training will be conducted virtually via Zoom on May 11 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and May 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
