Woman guilty of tampering with baby formula avoids jail time

An Arizona woman accused of tampering with baby formula will not face jail time.  

According to police, Jennifer LaPlante admitted to mixing powders in baby formula containers and returning them to the store for cash. At least one baby was hospitalized when it was given the tainted formula.

As part of a plea deal, LaPlante pled guilty to child abuse and conducting a fraudulent scheme. She received a total of 7 years probation for her actions.
