A 55-year-old Virginia woman was killed on Wednesday after she was impaled by a beach umbrella at Virginia Beach.
Huffington Post says that Lottie Michelle Belk was celebrating her 55th birthday when the umbrella, blown by strong winds, stabbed her in the torso.
Belk was transported to a local hospital where she died from her injuries.

It is not known if the umbrella was one being used by Belk or someone else.
