Study finds health benefits from playing Pokemon Go

New research has found that Pokemon Go can be better than some fitness apps at getting people off the couch and walking.

The study by Microsoft Research found that frequent users of the popular app took 26 percent more steps than they before playing Pokemon Go.

The most drastic changes in activity level were seen in sedentary users who are now found walking around trying to catch Pokemon.

The study found if Pokemon Go can sustain the engagement of its users, there could be significant positive effects on the long-term health of its players.
