Russell released the following statement to the media:
I appreciate everyone's patience in allowing the investigation to take it's course and always had faith the truth would come out in the end. It was rewarding to see that I was not pre-judged by our fans, and that was gratifying over these last two months. My lawyers did a great job in their fact-finding, and that was instrumental in the outcome. I am looking forward to moving ahead with my life and work and getting back to a normal schedule and putting this behind me. Thanks to everyone who supported me during this time.
ORIGINAL STORY
Chumlee of "Pawn Stars" could avoid serious jail time after his Las Vegas arrest earlier this year, according to TMZ.
Chumlee, whose real name is Austin Russell, was arrested in March in Las Vegas during a raid on his home.
Police were investigating an alleged sexual assault at his home and had issued a search warrant. Several illegal items including methamphetamine, marijuana and firearms were located.
Russell faces a charge of being a prohibited person under possession of a firearm and numerous narcotics charges, including methamphetamine and marijuana.
On the sexual assault case, TMZ reported there wasn't enough evidence to charge him.
TMZ cites court documents that Russell will be charged with felony possession of a firearm and felony possession of a controlled substance, mirroring his earlier charges; however TMZ reports he will get a plea deal.
Details of the plea deal have not yet been released but TMZ reports it could mean probation and no jail time. A judge has not yet signed off on the deal, according to TMZ.
The reality television show "Pawn Stars" is based on the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in downtown Las Vegas. The show stars Richard "Old Man" Harrison, his son Rick Harrison, Rick's son Corey "Big Hoss" Harrison, and Russell, who is a childhood friend of Corey Harrison.
