A police officer in Reno is getting lots of attention for his Colin Kaepernick costume, according to TMZ.

The name of the officer is Antonio Gutierrez. He wore a football jersey, afro wig, fake nose with a "Will stand for food" sign.

Kaepernick played at the University of Nevada Reno before he joined the San Francisco 49ers in 2011.

Kaepernick was the first football player to sit down during the playing of "The Star Spangled Banner." It happened during the 49ers third preseason game in 2016. He also sat during the national anthem for the team's first 23 games despite not dressing for play.

Kaepernick told reporters that he was not going to stand up to show pride in a flag country that oppresses black people and people of color.

Since then, he has been joined by many other football players and the issue has caused a lot of controversy among football fans and others.

The chief of police has apologized for his officer's uniform. However, he says there is no policy in place that would dictate any disciplinary action.
