A man made a gruesome discovery at a Queens, New York storage unit this week.
Carlos had just got the storage unit at auction, but when he opened it up, he found at least 40 dead cats inside two freezers. He immediately called police.
The person leasing the unit before the auction was a 66-year-old woman who is now being sought by the New York Police Department.
The unit had been auctioned off for non-payment of rent, according to ABC 7 in New York. She had stopped paying rent in July.
Police are investigating how the cats ended up there.
