A routine test drive on Monday turned into a near-death experience for a Texas car salesman. Thankfully, his quick thinking may have saved his life.
Houston police say that two men came into a Honda dealership and asked to test drive a Dodge Challenger, according to KTRK-TV Channel 13.
During the test drive, they stopped the car and forced the salesman into the trunk at gunpoint.
The salesman texted his manager at the dealership, who then began tracking the phone. Next, the salesman was able to pop the trunk from inside and when the car stopped again, he jumped out.
There was a fight and the salesman was able to grab the gun. He shot one of the suspects before they took off.
The police department then began chasing the thieves. After crashing the stolen car into a postal truck, they jumped out and disappeared. The police department is still looking for them.
The car salesman was found walking along a freeway. He was transported to a local hospital to be treated.
