A sign that said "Jesus Loves Strippers, honk if you agree" was removed in the town of Salem. Oregon, because a civic group did not like the sign.
The sign promoted POLE Gems, a nonprofit group selling fireworks for the 4th of July.
Cynthia Shaver, the executive director and founder of POLE Gems, was inspired to start the nonprofit based on her own experience of working as a cocktail server in a strip club about 20 years ago.
The nonprofit helps adult entertainment workers in a variety of ways.
The civic group said that the sign made Salem look "tacky."
