A Washington D.C.-area couple thought this weekend's massive snowstorm was the perfect opportunity to take some engagement photos.

"We had wanted to do a snow photoshoot for a long time," Felicia Sam, 27, told ABC News. "So any opportunity that presented itself, we were just going to take it. I heard on the news that there was going to be a blizzard so I said surely there'll be snow. I called the photographer and said, 'Are you up for it?' And he said, 'Oh my God, you're reading my mind.'"

Sam and her fiance David Nartley, 31, ventured out into Maryland with their photographer and took a series of photos.

Sam told ABC News that despite the chilly temperatures, the two had a great time taking photos in the snowfall.

It was fitting for the couple to take photos during the middle of the storm, Sam told ABC News, especially since Nartey proposed right before Hurricane Joaquin.
