The mother of arguably one of the greatest rappers to ever live has died.
According to the Marin County Sheriff's Department Afeni Shakur, mother of Tupac Shakur may have had a heart attack.
Officials were called out to her California home on Monday night around 9 p.m. The 69-year-old was taken to the hospital were she died.
"At this point there is nothing to indicate to us that there was any foul play, nothing suspicious about this other than this being sadly a natural event that has occurred," Marin County Sheriff's Lt. Doug Pittman said Tuesday.
Tupac was killed nearly 20 years ago in Las Vegas.
Film crews were seen in Las Vegas in April filming the upcoming biopic of the rapper titled, 'All Eyez on Me' which Afeni gave the green light to create.
Tupac often spoke of the love he had for his mother, who was once a Black Panther and Civil Rights activist. Tupac penned the song 'Dear Mama' which went on to be one of his most popular records.
