A seminar was held by Protective Force International on Tuesday to teach women various self-defense techniques.

The company says that it is imperative that women know how to defend themselves physically, mentally and emotionally.

In addition to needing to be able to defend themselves against strangers, women need to know what to do if they are potential victims of domestic violence.

Recent studies show nearly half of the women in Nevada have been victims of someone that they know.

On Oct. 30, Protective Source International will be teaching a seminar on personal safety for veterans and families.
