Police said a woman was injured in a shooting in a Wells Fargo parking lot Saturday afternoon.

Around 12:30 p.m., the shooting occurred during a robbery in the 5800 block of East Charleston Boulevard, near Sloan Lane. The woman received minor injuries.

Witnesses said the woman got off the bus and was walking toward her car in this parking lot. That's when an eyewitness says a guy with a gray hoodie and bandana over his face approached the woman, went for her purse and tackled her to the ground.

The witness says he watched the man shoot the woman after she put up a fight. He then took off running down Charleston.

"He had her on the ground she was on her back and I shouted at him, 'Hey, don't beat up on a woman," said eyewitness Chuck Huth. "And I didn't realize he had a gun and he fired on shot fortunately it just grazed her in the shoulder and he took off running."

The witness says he ran after him too but eventually lost the guy.

Chandler Brooks says he's used to seeing this kind of stuff happen in his neighborhood.

"When you live in something like this, you kinda get used to it and you find the good things out of the bad," said Brooks.

The parking lot was blocked off for three hours while police interviewed witnesses. Around 3 p.m., Wells Fargo was back open and everything is operating normally.
