A woman who lost her son in a deadly shooting Saturday night claims the man who pulled the trigger yelled "White Power" during a fight.

Luis Antonio Lopez Jr. was shot and killed Saturday after an argument broke out between him and a neighbor.

"He was a great father. He was a great son," said Patricia Amezccua, the mother of Luis Lopez.

Amezccua said her son came to visit her at her home on the 4500 block of Via Madrigal Saturday when the fight started. Police reported it was possible all three men that were involved in the fight, including Lopez, may have opened fire at each other.

Amezccua said she's had problems with her neighbor before and that she heard him shout a race-related message during the fight.

"He said, 'White Power!,'" she said.

Police have not made any arrests.

Amezccua plans to help her daughter-in-law care for Lopez' 2-year-old daughter. He was also expecting another baby girl in June.

"They're never going to meet because he kept shooting and he didn't stop," Amezccua said.
