Woman finds body on the road near Bruce and Owens

Police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run at Bruce Street and Owens Avenue Sunday night.
Around 9:48 p.m. a woman called 9-1-1 after witnessing a car swerving to avoid a body on the road.
Officials arrived at the scene and determined that a man was hit and killed by a vehicle. Bits of red paint and chrome were scattered around the body, which police believe broke away from the vehicle that hit the man.
Further investigations revealed that the victim of the hit-and-run was crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk.
