A Las Vegas woman takes matters into her own hands to fight crime near Anasazi Drive and Summerlin Parkway.

"He was kind of standing way from my doorbell, trying to stay out of the security camera view," said Chelsea.  The young woman did not want her last name released.

She says that she was home alone with one child on Tuesday afternoon when a ring alerted her to the strangers outside.

Her boyfriend Chuck, who was at work, was also able to witness what was happening.

"We're fed up and tired of our community being victimized by these opportunistic predators," he said.

The two strangers were scared away from Chuck and Chelsea's home. However, a few streets down and a few minutes later, they broke into a neighbor's house.

Chelsea who had discreetly jumped in her car and spotted the strangers jumping the fence called the police.

"There's nobody behind us so really the only reason the police were alerted was because of our vigilant neighbor," said the homeowner.

The homeowner tells 13 Action News all of his stolen goods were returned. He is grateful the crooks are behind bars.

Meanwhile, recognizing the danger, Chelsea said she took precautions to avoid a confrontation with the suspects.  For now anyway, people in this community say they are resting a little bit easier.
